Like that couple whose Facebook walls read like a day-to-day update of how much they love each other at that moment, Justin and Selena just can’t seem to stop writing songs about each other. Unlike status-happy couples, she apparently gave him a heads-up that it was coming.

Gomez begins her song not with her own voice but with a literal quote from the JBiebz, to remind the listener that this song is definitely written for him. In another interpretation, Justin Bieber got drunk and tried to be Sinatra, and Selena heard the echoes of a killer marketing strategy.

Despite their combined millions of dollars, Selena acknowledges that she and Justin cannot buy time, in the same way that the Beatles cannot buy love, Steve Jobs can’t buy a functional pancreas, and college students working in unpaid internships cannot buy anything.

Being celebrities, the components of Jelena can pick any place on the globe and just sort of go there in between tours. They apparently have. However, an unforeseen breakup has rained on their vacation plans the same way Katrina rain on the vacation plans of would-be 2005 Mardi Gras enthusiasts.

Interestingly enough, she seems to state that she and Bieber will exist again as an item “somewhere in forever,” but shortly afterwards sings that “we screwed it up forever.” We’re not quite sure what you’re trying to say right here, Selly-goose, but we hope Bieber gets it.
